New World-Change has come
BIG NEWS

I'm sure many of you know about this. About the fact that Barack Obama being the president-elect.Meaning he will become the first African American President of the United States of America. He will be sworn in as President on the 20th of January 2009. Wow!

His (victory) speech was inspirational. Amazing. I truly hope that change will come as he has promised not only America but the world. Given the right to vote, I would vote for (president-to-be) Mr Obama. He symbolizes everything that the world needs. Being the President of USA next year, it seems like it won't be a honeymoon road anymore. He inherited the global economic crises, two wars(one in Iraq and the other in Afghanistan), and etc...(List is too long)...hahaha..I wish him all the best. So do all the millions of people in the world(I'm sure).

I woke up this morning feeling different. The air felt different. I felt like CHANGE will come or has come! I felt delightfully happy of the world. Nice feeling--Change has come

A New
Greetings! I admit it's been months ever since I've updated my dying blog. It was in a dreadful comatose state...Oh well, changes here and there in my life. Little bits of news here to report...
I'm going to get a new cousin! YAY! Probably January-February next year. Hope its a boy this time. No wait, hope its a girl this time. There's too many boy cousins on the maternal side.
Life has been great in RJ. People there are really nice. Especially my classmates! Go 3O! :)

Now that the holidays are here, loads of stuff to do. But first, gotta unwind and relax. Gonna do that for this week..Wait, I've got religious class exams. Will study hard. I can't wait to leave Singapore to go on holiday! Experience the thrill of the unknown, driving and motorbiking;) I do know some people who'll gladly allow me to drive (car and bike) although I'm not of a legal age to do so. Hehehe... Oh heck, I'm gonna do what I want!

Some of the happenings in the world today...
US Presidential Elections
If I was ever given the chance to vote, the presidential candidate that I'm going to vote for will be Obama. He is the change that everyone needs.

F1 Grand Prix
Lewis Hamilton won the F1 Grand Prix Championships! Salutey! Way to go! You're an inspiration to the young who are in desperate need of a positive role model(not those that we see on TV who propagates minimal clothings, revolting morals and etc...)

Money vs. Happiness
Money makes the world go round...Love makes the world go round...Whatever it is the world still goes round.

Financial difficulties are never easy. I know that because my family is a low-income family. It is based on my own personal experience. When people say,' I understand what you're going through'. Well, they're talking shit. They don't. Especially when they're from middle- or high- income families. When they say,'I understand how you feel'. Well, let me say it again. Bullshit. Not shit but bullshit. Seriously, have they gone through it? If they have, okay I'll salute them as we're on the same boat. If not just shut up. They'll never know how it feels like to be poor, to be dependent on financial aid, to worry if your dad's pay check will come in, to worry if your refrigerator is filled, to worry if your school fees are paid and etc...Let me just make a list that I have to worry:
-Whether food will be on the table everyday
-School fees are paid or not
-electricity bills are not skyrocketing
-using money very wisely
-whether we will have clothes to wear(most clothes are hand-me-downs from relatives)
-whether we can afford hospital bills when my brother is admitted(he's been admitted twice)
-whether my mum will ever fall sick because if she does, everyone will be affected as the mother is the very heart of the family.
-whether my dad is working moderately and health at the same time because he is our only source of income.
The list is endless....

I know how it feels like to be poor. I am not ashamed to say that I am poor. There are millions of people all over the world who are poor. There are some who are even worst of than my family. It's ok. It is fate.

There was a time when we actually had to starve for a few days, waiting for my dad's pay to come in. That very night he could withdraw his pay from his bank account, we bought food that same night. It was the most delicious meal ever.

Whatever that I have, material possessions and all, are mostly bought or given to me by my aunts, uncles and etc...They are really kind souls. Alhamdullilah... You know what... Even though my family is poor, we're happy. Always. We'll always joke around, laugh at each other, play pranks and etc. Gosh, I love it. In this case, love and laughter makes our world go round. Because what really matter is the family. My family. If you have money, but no siblings or family members to enjoy with, what's the point? If you have family, but no money, you know what, you will still survive. You have each other. You'll work together to survive. I know it might sound 'cheesy' but it is true. That's why family is always at the top of my list. Thank you Allah for everything. The good times and the bad. I'm soo happy that my family is intact and happy. Every obstacle in our path is just a test of our faith. We will remain faithful. Thank you.

Worst Month: April
I have always despised the month of April. And I know it despises me too. For some reason, with the coming of April, tragedies will come along too. Maybe tragedies and Aprils are best friends.

Today, 25th April, is my grandfather's (late...sounds better than deceased because late makes him seem neither dead nor alive to me)birthday. If he was alive he would be turning 83. It's been 7 years...But I still miss him..soo much... Now that I'm always going to the same 'place' ever morning for school, the whole area just floods my mind with memories, sweet and otherwise. I have always tried promising myself that I'll go back and see everything that we left behind. But it all seems impossible. I'm not sure if I have the courage to return.

My other grandfather(paternal), whom I thought was going to kick the bucket didn't kick the bucket in the end. And I meant it literally too. He's the type of grandfather that one would sympathize and dislike at the same time. Stingy,self-centred,proud he is...
I'll explain why he couldn't kick the bucket(literal meaning). His right or left leg(can't remember which one) has just been amputated. Everyone in the family thought he would never survive the surgery. He sure proved us wrong. I wished that he could prove us right. You know why?
Because he has always looked down on my father.Always. Just because my father lacked education and basically he earns very little compared to his other brothers and sisters. Money is always is his eyes all the time...I think he learnt his lesson. The money that he has never helped him to save his leg. Serve him right for looking down on my dad just because he's a low-earner.

Hence, from then onwards(well, actually from like primary school I realized the situation), I decided to dedicate my life to make a name for my family especially for my parents. Insyaallah.

Fresh at last..or not...
A cornucopia of things have happened. (Ooh..big word..hehe)
First, the bloody O levels are finally over. Phew! Never thought I'll get through it. Second, got into AJ for PAE. It was totally fun! Meeting new people, making new friends, even started to love it. PAE passed rather quickly...Will miss the people I've met... Third, O level results! OH my goodness! It was a total nightmare for me. I cried the day before O level results came out.Worse, I wept in front of my mother. I thought I would do very badly because from my own experience, unpredictable things happen. A LOT. So I went to school on the day of the release of O level results. Gosh! I was a total nervous wreck. MY mother was in school to 'comfort' me because if anything 'bad' happens.....ya...
Guess what...I was crying even when I was collecting my results. I didn't know queuing up could actually be a horrendous experience. The wait, the anticipation, the anxiety!
So there I was shivering with fright as I held my result slip. I went to my mother, no wait, I ran towards her, to frighten to face the 'rot(rotting fruits) of my labour' because seriously! I thought I would do very badly. And so, I opened the slip and saw what I dreamed of seeing.
GOOD RESULTS!
Well, they looked good to me.Compared to Singapore O level top scorers, Oh my, I can faint...
But still, I loved my results:)Still do.

Next comes the choosing of JC. Oh gosh! Had a super-duper tough time choosing..Thought too much that for a moment I thought I could enter other people's thoughts and hear what they're thinking...I wish... I actually drew some lots..okay, okay..I drew A LOT of lots.......Can't help but be fickle. We're talking about my future you know...

And so my new JC is...drum roll please...RJ!
Wasn't expecting it...But alhamdullilah dapat:)God is great!

Life in RJ is ok..flowing smoothly....Too many people in it I think. The cohort is huge.OH well...Everything is good actually.

I'm happy with my family. Realize that I'm very mischievous..well, that's what my mother said..and my sister..and my brother...

Went swensens three times this year..Yum yum...Delicious, mouth-watering treats:)
Oh gosh, now I'm hungry. I'm supposed to protest eating now because I argued with my mother about the fact that she doesn't cook nowadays.Infuriating man!

Life's full of angry moments. I'm experiencing it now....MOther is nagging again....I wonder if they can live a day without nagging. I think nagging is practically their breathing. They're women...Women talk...A LOT....That's why I prefer to talk to my father...He gets straight to the point and stops talking. How nice. PLus, an added point, NO NAGGING!

So....how do you like my post for now...I've updated my blog...this can last for one month or so...kidding..I'll try to update 'frequently', okay?

They're furry things!

I'm talking about POLAR BEARS. Their scientific name is Ursus maritimus or the "sea bear." Its closest relative is the brown bear.Adult male polar bears measure 2.5 to 3 meters tall. They weigh 250 to 770 kilograms .Adult female bears are smaller. They measure 1.8 to 2.5 meters tall and weigh 90 to 320 kilograms. In the wild, polar bears live an average of 15 to 18 years, although biologists have tagged a few bears in their early 30s. In captivity, they may live until their mid- to late 30s.

Oh ya, there's a widespread misconception that polar bears live together with penguins. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY FALSE. Polar bears live in the Northern hemisphere while penguins(cute little creatures they are!) live in the Southern hemisphere. They practically live on opposite sides of the world!

So... The numbers to the polar bear population is indeed worrying. Scientists have estimated that there are 20000-25000 polar bears left. The threat to this creatures are first and foremost, shrinking sea ice habitat due to climate change. Other threats include pollution, poaching, and industrial disturbances. Ultimately, us humans are the main cause to their endangerment.

I'm back in the blogger game! First things first! The bloody Os are finally over! Woohoo! However, I don't actually feel any excitement.

In my brutally honest opinion, our education system which emphasizes so much on exams, exams, exams, (even though there has been futile attempts in 'modifying' the system to make it so-called 'innovative, creative and fun') is absolutely stifling, deadening and very much stultifying. Even though our education system has been ranked as one of the world's top, the young generation are simple deprived of their basic rights. Childhood experiences( where in kindergarten they learn 1+1=2 instead of sitting for a multiplication test). Chronicles of a teenagers' life( where teens have the time to have crushes,go shopping, have a social life instead of having to worry for the upcoming exams that ultimately determine your future placing in life). Youths/adults adventures(where they can take a break from the scurries of life and simply go for a holiday instead of having to work to support the aged as well as save up for thier golden years to come).

My god! What kind of screwed up world do we live it!

For now, I'll enjoy and appreciate what I have. However, I'll be prepared to embrace the challenges that will sooner or later come ono-on-one with me.

Good new! I have successfully graduated from secondary school. Cheers all around to everyone who have graduated! We will soon embark on a new and exciting adventure in our lives. Brace yourselves people! Coz the future ain't smooth and easy. Oh ya, I would love to continue my constructive criticisms on the education black hole(which sucks the life out of people), however, I have decided to hold back my opinions on them for another day. This is my latest update ever since I was paralysed with exam stress.

Thank you for reading, for those who are actually bothered to read my ramblings, but once again thank you for your audience.

Engaging A War But Somehow Turned Into Something Else
I am currently in a early stages of war. A huge one. A massive one. Well, similar to that of World War Two maybe. Ahhh!!...Cut the crap! I declare a war against my mom.

As some of you might know, having a war against your mom ain't a pretty sight. The tongue lashing, the samurai sword-like words, the sound waves piercing and drilling into your ears, vibrating the ear-drums like hell. Typical aye?

I can't fight back. I'm her daughter. I'm supposed to respect her at all times. And I truely do.For all the the sacrifices she made. For taking care of the family. For her very presence in this world. For being there for me. Gosh, now I'm feeling oh so very sorry for declaring war against my mom. So sorry mom! I'll take back my words.

After a few moments of cogitating, I realized that my dear mother had made major sacrifices in her life just to help others. For one thing I know for sure is that she sacrificed her career to take care of her old, sick mother(my grandmum) as well as her father(my granddad) who was a dialysis patient. She had seven other siblings but none of them had the guts, had the bravery, to take on the journey that she went through, which is the responsibility of taking good care of her parents. She was very dedicated and devoted to her new career as a loyal and loving daughter. I truly admire her for that. They say that the boys usually take care of their parents when their parents are starting to age. That kind of thing doesn't happen in my family. Bull*@#$! all the men in my family. Gutless,selfish,self-centred, miserable, malaise, cold-blooded creatures! Pardon me for my excessive use of negative words but that's just the way men in my family have been.

My mother, she sacrificed her time, money, and anything else for her family. She'll do anything for the family. I remembered once or well, a couple of times, when she would actually stay awake at night with me when I'm studying. I remembered the times when my mum had to do dialysis for my grandfather, that is, all the procedures which kidney patients go through during dialysis. She could actually become a nurse with all the practice she got. Oh Gosh.... I just can't believe the sacrifices she made.

I need to say this! I must say this. I LOVE YOU MUM!!Hugs and kisses to you!!!
